What are NovaThreads?
Polished MedSpa is thrilled to offer PDO absorbable thread lift procedure to our clients. NovaThreads are made out of a dissolvable material called PDO, it’s the same material used by surgeons who perform internal surgeries. They are safe, effective and your skin fully absorbs it within 4 to 6 months and won’t leave you with any scar tissue. The threads stimulate collagen synthesis and the skin structure created will hold for another 12 to 15 months.
How does it work
No cuts or incisions, just injections! The NovaThreads are needles that are pre-loaded with a PDO thread. They are inserted into the interstitial tissue at subdermal level, parallel to the surface of the skin. When the needle is pulled out the PDO thread remains under the skin. NovaThreads are made slightly thicker and have tiny “barbs” or “hooks” to lift the skin.
NovaThreads Use Controlled Healing
Selective Inflammatory Response, is the principle behind a lot of aesthetic procedures. Our skin is very good at repairing itself, and by inserting NovaThreads we make it heal itself by creating new collagen, naturally! During the 4 to 6 months needed to fully absorb the PDO suture, your skin is also repairing itself around it. It’s “controlled healing” happening underneath the skin!
Ideal candidates for thread lifts include:
People with minimal signs of aging who need just a small lift. Good candidates are those patients who are starting to see some droopiness of the brow, cheeks, jowls and/or neck and would like to see a lift effect, but do not want the risk, scars, or recovery of a real browlift, facelift, or necklift operation.
People who have had some relapse from a previous plastic surgery procedure such as a facelift or neck lift.
People who do not wish to undergo a surgical facelift or necklift for various reasons such as not wanting a prolonged recovery of a stand facelift or do not wish to spend money on an expensive facelift.
What are the different types of NovaThreads?
There are several types of threads used to lift, plump or smooth the skin:
Smooth threads are for superficial wrinkles and lines
Volumizing, twist threads are for defining lip borders and diminishing deep wrinkles or folds, such as smile lines lift threads contain small barbs to lift the skin up and returns it to its original natural position
Smooth and twist NovaThreads are positioned underneath the skin to support the production of collagen and tightens naturally from the inside out. A series of these treatments is usually done initially. Results appear natural, as if you’re simply looking younger every day.
The NovaLift treatment creates a more dramatic result immediately with only one treatment. Think of the NovaLift treatment as a non-surgical facelift to treat areas of the face that begin to sag as you get older. PDO sutures that have “barbs” on the end are used, allowing them to grip the inside of the skin. The suture is then lifted in one or two directions, instantly repositioning the skin. In addition to skin rejuvenation, the threads also help to stimulate collagen growth, firming the skin and providing further long-lasting results for the treatment area.

How Does NovaThreads Work?
PDO threads are inserted under the skin providing you with immediate lift or volume. The threads dissolve naturally over the course of several months synthesizing new collagen and elastin production in the treated area that will hold for another 12- 15 months.
When Can You Expect To See Results?
The effects of your NovaThread treatment can be seen immediately. Results will also continue to improve during the weeks and months following treatment. Full results of your treatment will be achieved at 3 months.

How Long Is The Appointment?
The length of the appointment time is dependent upon the patient and the area(s) being treated. Polished MedSpa schedules 90 minutes with new patients in order to properly educate them on treatment. The actual treatment takes about 20-30 minutes.
Do the NoveThread Injections Hurt?
Your comfort is our top priority. To enhance your comfort, a local anesthetic can be applied to the surface of your skin before the injection.
What To Expect After Your NovaThread Treatment
Patients can return to their normal daily lives immediately after leaving our office with NovaThread injections. Bruising is always possible.
What Are The Side Effects And Risks of NovaThreads and are NovaThreads Safe?
The PDO thread treatments at Polished MedSpa are done by an APRN who is an aesthetically trained, licensed, medical professional. Mild swelling, possible bruising, or soreness at the injection site is common and improves quickly. Your medical history and will be reviewed during treatment. PDO is fully absorbable, but that doesn’t mean your skin won’t react to it. During the 4 to 6 months needed to fully absorb the PDO suture, your skin is also repairing itself around it. It’s “controlled healing” happening underneath the skin!
How Long Do NovaThread Results Last?
The results are immediately noticeable to you and will continue to increase over the next few months as the body fully absorbs the threads. These results lasts between 12-15 months. *Individual Results May Vary
