Restylane®


Restylane® made by Galderma, is a hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal filler that is designed to restore lost facial volume. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that is found naturally in our skin. This type of dermal filler can retain its shape after injection, restoring lost volume, and reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and deep creases. It is also used for lip augmentation.



The Restylane® family of dermal fillers, including  Restylane® Kysse, Restylane® lyft, Restylane® Refyne, Restylane® Defyn, and Restylane® Silk can be used to effectively treat age-related facial concerns, such as:

  • Fine lines, wrinkles, and deep creases

  • Nasolabial folds (smile lines)

  • Marionette lines (wrinkles at the corners of the mouth)

Restylane® Lyft is a hyaluronic acid (HA) that is used to restore lost volume in the midface (cheek) area. This hyaluronic acid is injected into the cheek area and designed to replenish the tissue that often diminishes during the natural aging process. In addition to restoring lost volume, this dermal filler can smooth and soften the prominence of nasolabial folds (smile lines), marionette lines (wrinkles at the corners of the mouth), enhance a chin projection and define a jawline.

How Does Restylane® Work?

This type of dermal filler can retain its shape after injection, restoring lost volume, and reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and deep creases. It is also used for lip augmentations.

How Long Is The Appointment?

Length of the appointment time is dependent upon the patient and the area(s) being treated. Polished MedSpa schedules 60 minutes with new patients in order to properly educate them on treatment. The actual treatment takes about 20-30 minutes.

What Are The Side Effects And Risks of Restylane®? Is Restylane® Safe?

Injections at Polished MedSpa are done by an APRN who is an aesthetically trained, licensed, medical professional. Mild swelling, redness, bruising, or soreness at the injection site is common of Restylane® and improves quickly. Your medical history and will be reviewed during treatment.

When Can You Expect To See Results?

Unlike wrinkle relaxers, the effects of your Restylane® treatment can be seen immediately with each injection. Though many patients will notice immediate results, results should continue to improve during the days following treatment. Full results of your treatment will be achieved at two weeks.

Do the Restylane® Injections Hurt?

Your comfort is our top priority. To enhance your comfort, a local anesthetic can be applied to the surface of your skin before the injection. A very fine needle is used to inject Restylane® into the specific area. The Restylane® products contain lidocaine and help patients to feel even more comfortable during the procedure.

How Long Do Restylane® Results Last?

For most patients, the results from a single Restylane® treatment can last approximately six to nine months, if not longer, depending on how the patient metabolizes the product. Patients who wish to extend and maintain their results can easily do so by scheduling an additional syringe in six months.

What To Expect After Your Restylane® Treatment

Arnicare is applied to help with any bruising or swelling. Patients can return to their normal daily lives immediately after leaving our office. It is recommended that patients ice the area that was injected to help reduce any bruising or swelling.
