Renew Your Complexion with Microneedling
Microneedling is our favorite treatment here at Polished Med Spa. It’s versatile, effective, and best of all - delivers results! Suitable for all skin types - microneedling is a treatment that benefits everyone. Let’s go over how it works, and how we do it at Polished.
Microneedling at Polished MedSpa
Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin resurfacing treatment where we use a small device to roll very fine needles all over your skin. Tiny punctures are created - which stimulate your body’s natural healing process. Revving up your body’s wound healing process through these micro-injures increases your production of the protein called collagen. Collagen is an essential building block in achieving healthy skin. It provides elasticity, firmness, and smoothness.
Microneedling addresses a variety of skin concerns. It improves the texture and appearance of scars, reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and lessens pigmentation. And even if you don’t have a specific skin concern, microneedling serves as a ‘next-level facial’ - renewing your complexion with smoother, brighter skin!
Using your own blood topically in conjunction with your microneedling treatment only provides better results! The microneedling boosts your collagen production, and your plasma is what accelerates skin healing and overall skin rejuvenation. Here at Polished, we use Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) to provide the best possible outcome.
The Power of PRF
Your plasma (a component of your blood) contains platelets. Platelets are powerful cells that are essential to your body’s natural healing process, cell growth and renewal.
We obtain your Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) by first drawing your blood. Then, use a device called a centrifuge to rapidly spin your blood, which causes the plasma to separate out from the rest of your blood.
The SELPHYL® system we use at Polished MedSpa converts this plasma into Platelet-rich Fibrin Matrix (PRFM). This further removes other blood components (like red and white blood cells) to create a substance that is more pure - we like to call it liquid gold!
This essentially creates a scaffold (aka the fibrin matrix) to contain the platelets at the site of injection. This allows for a slower, sustained growth factor release. These platelet growth factors support more consistent, long-lasting collagen production and blood flow – which improves the appearance and health of your skin!
Can’t Forget the ZO Serum
Adding a ZO concentrated serum post-treatment further elevates your treatment results. Brightalive Serum, Firming Serum, and Rozatrol Serum are all amazing products through our favorite skincare line. These serums help calm, soothe, and hydrate your skin immediately following your microneedling treatment. They also help even your skin tone and further brighten your complexion.
