Finally Say Goodbye to Cellulite with QWO

Cellulite - this unwelcomed skin condition plagues many women, affecting self-esteem and outfit choices everywhere. If you have cellulite, you know it can make you feel self-conscious, especially when you’re just trying to enjoy your time at the beach or pool. Cellulite on your butt is a common problem area that may make you ditch the swimsuit altogether, or even avoid those comfy, form-fitting leggings.

Unfortunately, smoothing out cellulite isn’t as simple as hitting the gym a little bit more, or focusing on a healthier diet. Genetics, gender, and age are all factors that you have no control over.

To combat cellulite once and for all - we are thrilled to bring a new treatment to Polished Med Spa: QWO! This cellulite removal treatment may be just what you need to smooth out your backside and bring back your confidence!

What is QWO?

QWO (collagenase clostridium histolyticum-aaes) is the first and only FDA-approved injectable for moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks of women. Pronounced ‘kwoe’ - this non-surgical treatment has been proven to reduce the appearance of cellulite through clinical trials.

If you’ve been concerned about your cellulite for a while and have been thinking about ways to treat it - look no further than QWO!  QWO has been studied in more patients than any other FDA-approved cellulite treatment. You can rest assured that it’s safe AND effective.

Cellulite - Why You Have it (It’s More Common Than You Think!)

Cellulite, the formation of lumps and dimples on the skin, is something most of us are familiar with. It affects both men and women, although it’s much more common in women due to different distributions of fat, muscle, and connective tissue. In fact, 80-90% of women experience cellulite at some point in their lives.

And it’s not your fault! Regardless of how healthy you eat or how much you exercise - you can still have cellulite.

Many women experience cellulite in the arms, abdomen, thighs, and buttocks. Your buttocks are a particularly common spot to find cellulite, due to the multiple layers of fat in this area.

There are 3 things that contribute to the development of cellulite:

  • Over time as you age, your skin begins to thin.

  • The fat cells below enlarge, and push against the skin.

  • The fibrous bands, further below the skin, thicken and cause tension. This results in the dimpling on your butt.

How Does QWO Work?

QWO injections are made up of enzymes called collagenases. These enzymes break down the build-up of collagen in the fibrous bands in your buttocks. This helps to release the tension that pushes up on your fat cells and skin - causing cellulite.

The enzymes get to work in 3 ways:

  • Releasing fibrous bands

  • Redistributing fat cells

  • Stimulating the growth of new collagen

By reducing tension, evening out fat cells, and thickening the skin with collagen - your butt will appear more smooth and firm!

What Can I Expect with my QWO Treatment?

Your aesthetic provider will explain the procedure and answer any questions you may have. Using a small needle, your provider will begin strategically placing the injections in your buttock, directly into areas of cellulite. The injections take about 10 minutes. There is no downtime following the procedure, meaning you can get right back to your day without limitations. As with any type of injection, you could experience some mild discomfort or bruising.

How Long Does It Take to Get Results with QWO?

Visible results can happen within just 10 weeks - a little over 2 months! Your aesthetic provider will help come up with a treatment plan for you, to ensure best results. It usually takes a few injection sessions, about 3 weeks apart, to achieve desired results. Winter is a great time to get started with this treatment, so by the time spring rolls around you’re feeling excited to pull out that swim suit!
