What is BBL™ HERO?
Polished MedSpa’s new Sciton® laser includes the BBL™ HERO – which stands for High Energy Rapid Output. And it does just that! This laser delivers 3X the energy of IPL treatments (making it 4 times faster!) This means greater efficiency aka: better results in less time!
The BroadBand Light (BBL)™ is the world's most powerful IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) device on the market today. This light therapy treatment is considered a cutting edge, advanced type of IPL that is safe and offers long-lasting results.
This device essentially turns back time and reverses the aging process. Your skin is reset and renewed by improving signs of aging skin, while also preventing future issues from popping up. This laser provides a clear, smooth complexion by reducing pigmentation concerns, acne, and the appearance of veins.
How Does BBL™ HERO Work?
This laser treatment uses non-invasive light waves delivered through a laser. This light energy is applied to the epidermis and dermis, which are the top layers of your skin. The laser stimulates changes in your skin tone, texture, elasticity, and pigmentation.
The light is converted to heat, which is absorbed by the pigment and red blood cells in the targeted skin tissue. The unwanted pigment is broken up and dissolves away. This process also stimulates your body’s natural healing process and the production of collagen, which in turn helps to further rejuvenate your skin.

What Can I Expect with my BBL™ Treatment?
When you come in for your BBL™ treatment – we’ll start by sitting down and coming up with a customized treatment plan just for you and the skin concerns you’d like to address. From targeted corrective treatments to ongoing skin renewal, we make a plan that meets your unique needs.
We’ll answer any questions you may have, and begin your laser treatment the same day. The BBL™ HERO handpiece will be applied to your skin and gently moves over the treatment area. The sapphire on the end of the applicator’s device keeps your skin cool and comfortable. You should feel minimal discomfort.
Post- treatment, some patients report feeling warm for a short time after. There is no downtime and you can get back to your normal activities right away. We advise avoiding direct sunlight and wearing sun protection afterwards as your skin will be more sensitive.
Visible, long-lasting results are expected in just 1 to 2 treatments. To compare, regular IPL technology often requires 5 to 6 treatments to show similar results!
